Snow And Rain Mix Expected In SE NB In Latest Storm

It looks like Southeastern New Brunswick will be spared from some of the nastier conditions expected in today’s weather system, but we will still see some snow and some dicey conditions tonight and into tomorrow.

That special weather statement remains in effect for our region, as an intensifying low pressure system approaches the Maritimes. It will track across Northwest New Brunswick, and alerts across New Brunswick range from winter storm watches, snowfall warnings, wind warning and rainfall warnings as well.

Meteorologist Linda Libby says the Moncton region is only expected to get up to 10 centimetres and that will change to rain by tomorrow morning, “Probably just before midnight or late evening for southeastern parts of New Brunswick. Snow is expected to be mixed with and change to rain by noon tomorrow. This could cause some messy, sloppy winter storm conditions.”

Other parts of the province could see upwards of 25 centimetres of snow.

Libby advises extra caution if you are planning on doing any travelling in advance of New Years Eve. Things could get messy and the temperatures starts to dip back down on Friday..
