Moncton Partners With Dieppe On Affordable Housing Study

A housing needs assessment study is being done by the City of Moncton in partnership with the City of Dieppe which will include areas such as home ownership, subsidized housing, shelters and transitional housing.

SHS Consulting has been hired to complete the study but residents are also being asked for their input.

Moncton Community Development Officer Kayla Breelove Carter says a priority was determined when the city began its social inclusion plan two years ago.

“We really did identify that housing was the foundation that opened up the doors to then looking at food security, mental health and so on and so forth,” she notes.

Breelove Carter says the study will be used to provide direction for Moncton and Dieppe, as it relates to the national housing strategy and an expected provincial housing strategy.

Residents can weigh in by filling out the online survey on the City of Moncton’s website HERE.

The study will be compiled in the new year and the results should be released later in the spring.
