Can’t bear the heat anymore? Better find a cool spot quick, according to Environment Canada, this humidity isn’t expected to let up anytime soon.
Meteorologist Linda Libby says we’ve had a couple of brief breaks from the humidity over the past couple of weeks, but it’s expected to stick around for the month of August.
She says there’s good news now that we’ve reached this point though, “We start to get some cooler nights, which helps provide a bit of relief, and time to rejuvenate. Mid-month we’re looking at higher temperatures again and higher humidity. The sun is also down a little bit longer in August, which means more time before the sun comes up in the morning.”
But Libby says this is also the time of year, we start to see increased activity in Tropical Cyclones. Normally we get one or two that end up in Canadian territory, which often bring with them, quite warm temperatures.
