Home Sales In Greater Moncton On The Rise

Home sales in Greater Moncton stayed strong in June, after a slow start to the year.

That’s from Kerry Rakuson, the Executive Officer of Greater Moncton Realtors who says active residential listings showed a 6.5-percent drop from the same time last year to a little over 2600 units.

“We’re seeing the active listings within the systems start to come down from their highest levels ever, so that means there’s going to be less inventory on the system. However, it’s still at elevated levels as compared to five years ago, ” she notes.

She adds, “What we’re seeing happening right now within the market is we’re coming back into more of hopefully a balanced place, so we’re see that inventory decline, which is a positive thing for sellers. Also, what I am hearing from the Realtors in the area is that properties that are priced properly accurately, are selling.”
