Caraquet RCMP are asking for the public to keep an eye out for a stolen tractor trailer full of frozen lobster.
Police say a dark coloured Volvo transport truck stole the trailer from a lobster processing plant in Grande Anse shortly around 10:15 at night on Canada Day.
The truck is a day cab, without a sleeping section, and with two yellow and red lights on the rear top corners of the truck.
The front licence plate was attached to the middle of the truck’s front grill and not in the usual location.
The 53 foot long trailer has no markings, but does have a refrigeration unit, and a Nova Scotia license plate “PT 6-65-11”. Note that the letters are small and the P sits on top of the T.
Police are releasing a picture of the transport truck and also a photo of the type of boxes inside the trailer.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Caraquet RCMP at 506-726-5222. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP212 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
