Premier Vows Free Tuition Bill Will Be Passed

Premier Brian Gallant is accusing the Opposition Conservatives of trying to prevent low income students from getting free tuition next September for post secondary education.

Gallant says the Conservatives offered to shorten the current sitting of the Legislature if the bills on free tuition and judges were pulled.

Opposition leader Bruce Fitch says the Conservatives want free tuition to be available to all students and are calling for 25 million dollars cut from the post secondary education budget to be reinstated.

Fitch is urging the government to set up a select committee on tuition access to come up with ways to make the legislation better.
