Sussex Rally On Fracking

Interim Provincial Conservative leader Bruce Fitch is calling on the provincial government to meet with the Sussex area businesspeople to listen to what they have to say.

The businesspeople say the government isn’t giving them a fair hearing on why the moratorium on fracking should be lifted regionally but the province has rejected that idea

Joel Richardson of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters says it looks more like a permanent ban which is hurting the provincial economy.

Richardson says natural gas development has been taking place in the Penobsquis area since the early 1990’s safely.
