The Gallant government approving the implementation of pay equity adjustments for Local 2745 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
It includes over 3000 workers in education including administrative assistants, educational assistants and school library workers.
Most of these workers are women.
Finance Minister Cathy Rogers says she is very pleased the government is making a significant stride forward in fulfilling the committment of improving pay equity across all parts of government.
In a news release, the government says the commitment equates to $3.5 million a year over the next 10 years.
