The scary journey that brought a young girl from Syria to Saint John stirring up some emotions at theAnglophone South District Education Council meeting last night.
17 year old Michleen Aidemoune is a student at St. Mac’s and came to Canada with her family 18 months ago.
She wrote an emotional essay depicting her time in Syria experiencing war and bloodshed.
We asked her if the transition to life in Canada was difficult.
She says it was but it was hard in a good way because she could go to school with worrying about seeing tanks there and people lying dead in front of them.
Michleen says this story will not happen to anyone else and it’s still stuck in her brain and she can’t forget it.
She says even though it hard to talk about she feels she must share her story to show the value of people and life.
