NB Government Installing Videoconferencing Systems In Select Areas Across Province

The provincial government is implementing a new and secure videoconferencing system in certain areas across the province, to allow elected officials as well as government and legislative staff the accessibility to participate in meetings electronically.

Premier Brian Gallant says this will mean improved services for New Brunswickers.

He says this will allows MLAs to stay in their communities more often so they can see the people they represent even more, and it will also save taxpayers money, because there will be less travel costs, and he feels it will allow for a better work life balance for MLA’s.

The provincial government hopes to eventually use the system to provide the capability for remote participation in cabinet and cabinet committee meetings.
