A groundbreaking ceremony will be held this morning on the site where a Habitat for Humanity crew will build their latest home..
The latest build is a women’s build.
Community Development Manager Joni Fleck-Andrews says it will happen at 26 Ayer Avenue in Moncton, and they’ll be working on the structure over the coming months, “Probably at one general time, we can expect anywhere between 5 and 20 people on any given day.”
Habitat for Humanity is hoping to have 200 women help with the build. Interested volunteer will have the opportunity at the groundbreaking this morning at 10am, to get more information or sign-up.
Fleck-Andrews says everyone is welcome to help out, “They’re hoping to get women involved in carpentry and construction, but they are in no way excluding men. Everyone is welcome to participate in this challenge.”
