Red Cross Assisting Five Monctonians Left Homeless After Overnight Fire

Five Monctonians are being helped by the Red Cross after an overnight fire.

Spokesperson Dan Bedell says a bungalow with a basement apartment at 323 Shediac Road was extensively damaged by a fire just after midnight.

A couple with two children, aged 10 and 12 are getting emergency shelter, food, clothing and other support.

A male adult tenant is also getting the same assistance.

No injuries were reported from the fire, and the family is waiting to hear back from their insurance company about the damage.
