Metro Moncton Home Sales Plunge In First Quarter

The average home price in Metro is now just over $156,000 according to the Greater Moncton Realtors.

After a red-hot start to 2016, president Trent Wilkins says sales actually plunged by 18 percent in the first quarter compared to last year.

“Our sale prices are up. Our sales are flat. We’re not getting an spikes right now compared to last year,” he notes.

The average home price in Metro has risen almost 5 percent from a year ago and now sits at just over 156-thousand dollars.

Although the first quarter was weak, Wilkins expects buying and selling will be on the upswing now that spring is here.
