A Moncton man will have a great opportunity next month when his short film is showcased at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
Geordie Joseph recently graduated from the Vancouver Film School and his final project was a film called “Magnolia’s Dollhouse” which focuses on a struggling writer coping with his young daughter’s illness.
Joseph says while the film did not make competitive categories, it will still be shown at one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world.
“We still get a venue at Cannes and it still gets seen. So it’s very exciting for all of us considering this is our first film out of film school and it’s being seen in France, so that’s a very exciting experience,” he notes.
Joseph says he and his team will have a great opportunity to network and possibly rub elbows with some big players from Hollywood.
