The reduction in the small business tax, announced by Premier Brian Gallant, from 4 to 3.5 per cent is a drop in the bucket when you consider all the other tax hikes and fee increases.
That take from Kevin Lacey, Atlantic Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Association who doesn’t believe it will lead to a surge in hiring.
Lacey warns the biggest tax increase has yet to kick in when the HST goes up in July.
