Moncton-Dieppe Only Bid Left To Host La Francophonie Games

A few more hurdles remain but it looks like Moncton and Dieppe will together be hosting the Games of La Francophonie in 2021.

The international committee already decided to support New Brunswick earlier this month.

Sherbrooke, Quebec was the only other city in the running and now they are also supporting Moncton-Dieppe.

The region already has the facilities to host the games with Moncton Stadium expected to play an intregral role in teh sporting and cultural event.

More than 3,000 athletes from nearly 60 countries could take part.

And that would mean a signficiant economic impact for the province to the tune of about $25 million.

Provincial minister responsible for La Francophonie Francine Landry led a delegation to the Ivory Coast earlier this month to present New Brunswick’s bid.
