The Magnetic Hill Zoo opened for its first time yesterday in two months, and thousands came out to take take part in its first Sunday opening.
The popularity of the Greater Moncton attraction continues to grow.
Prior to Sunday’s opening, the last time the Zoo welcomed guests in was at the end of 2015, when they held their Wild Lights festivities for the first time.
Zoo Manager Bruce Dougan says they saw over 14, 000 visitors, and they even had some surprises, “it was very well received. We even had some wedding proposals during wild Lights.”
Dougan says they’ll continue to make the event bigger and better going forward.
They’ll also have a couple of new additions at the Zoo this year, a new Hyacinthe Macaw exhibit, and they’ll start construction on their new African village, which isn’t expected to open until 2017 or 2018.
