DEVELOPING: Marissa Shephard Court Appearance In Moncton

A New Brunswick woman who spent ten weeks on the run from police is making her first court appearance today.

Twenty-year old Marissa Shephard was arrested yesterday in Moncton.

She was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and a tip led to her arrest.

Shephard is from the Moncton area and is charged with first degree murder and arson in relation to the death of 18 year-old Baylee Wylie on December 17, 2015.

In a brief court appearance, Shephard was wearing a hoodie and did not look at people seated in the gallery of the courtroom.

She is due back in court March 18 to enter a plea.
