Meeting For Maple Syrup Producers Today To Discuss Upcoming Changes To The Association

Maple syrup Producers are expected to gather today to talk about upcoming changes planned by the New Brunswick Maple Syrup Association.

Spokesperson Claudia Boucher says most Producers don’t know the consequences that will come with these changes, “The Association will have to the power to say who can sell, who can not, how much they have to produce, how much they cannot produce and what price to sell at. Most of the Producers don’t know what is going on. They don’t know the Association is trying to turn themselves into a Marketing board, and that will mean Producers will lose their independence.”

The meeting will get underway at 2pm this afternoon at Belleisle Community Centre on Route 124 in Springfield.
