NB Delegation In Winnipeg For Roundtable On Missing And Murdered Indigenous Women And Girls

The second National Roundtable on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and girls begins today in Winnipeg, and several new Brunswickers are taking part.

The Minister Responsible for Aboriginal affairs, Ed Doherty is attending , along with aboriginal women leaders; family members of missing and murdered indigenous women and girls from the Elsipogtog, St. Mary’s and Burnt Church First Nations; and other government officials.

The roundtable will focus on prevention and awareness; community safety; and policing measures and justice responses.

It wraps up on Friday.
