Get Healthy Challenge Postponed Until October

If you’ve been involved in the Betty Bevans Get Healthy Challenge in the past, you may have wondered where it has gone this year.

It is usually held in January, but with the municipal elections scheduled for May, Bevans decided this year to move it to October.

The Challenge involves the Mayor of all three communities..

Bevans says it’s all about making healthy choices, “Some people are doing it for weight loss, and others are doing it to get healthy. The fun part is you just make a healthy choice and record it.”

Bevans says, “I started out weighing 720 pounds, and I had a lot of weight to lose, obviously. I had tried diets and everything, and nothing seemed to work for me, so I started making small life changes.”

She has lost over 300 pounds to date.

Stay tuned for more details in the fall.
