Health Inequities Report Endorsed By Jean-Claude Basque Of CFSJ

The report from the province’s office of the Chief Medical Health Officer on the need to do something about health inequities is being enthusastically endorsed by Jean-Claude Basque of the Common Front for Social Justice.

He says to do so will require three steps to be taken, “increasing the minimum wage for sure, increasing social assistance rates and increasing the money that goes to seniors.”

Basque argues these are the people who bear the brunt of poverty. He finds it discouraging the provincial government appears to be going in the opposite direction which will worsen health inequities for the poor.
