Saint John firefighters discovering a body while fighting an early morning blaze in a home on the west side.
Five others are homeless after the fire which began at 4am this morning at 201 St. James Street West.
Platoon Chief Eric Garland tells us the cause is unknown and they had 24 firefigters on scene.
Garland tells us crews remain on scene and the cause is being looked into by Saint John Fire Investigation and the Major Crime Unit of the Saint John Police.
The Red Cross is helping out 5 people forced from their homes.
Garland says the structure suffered heavy damage.
