Interviews are being conducted this week for the more than 100 positions at PotashCorp’s Saskatchewan operations, and it’s expected that a number of those will be filled by workers from the Picadilly mine near Sussex.
That from PotashCorp’s Randy Burton who tells us they won’t know how many for a couple of weeks.
Last month the company delivered a devastating blow to the area announcing it was indefinitely suspending its operations in Picadilly and cutting over 400 jobs while keeping on a crew of about 35 people to keep the mine in care and maintenance mode.
PotashCorp’s Penobsquis mine, also near Sussex, closed in November of last year.
