Snowplows continue to clear roads after today’s winter storm.
But Spokesperson for the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization Paul Bradley says once the storm is officially over, motorists may still have a hard time getting around, “The wind is going to keep blowing throughout the day, so even if the snow stops, driving is still going to be difficult.”
RCMP Constable Jullie Rogers-Marsh says motorists need to slow down when driving in these types of conditions, “If you’re out today, make sure you give yourself enough time to get where you’re going and be cautious when you’re driving.”
Rogers-Marsh says in a three hour period starting at 7am this morning, Codiac RCMP responded to about 12 calls involving cars off the roads.
A good suggestion is to keep an emergency kit in your car in case you get stranded somewhere during a storm.
