A Riverview man facing a charge of aggravated assault, returns to Halifax court in February.
The 34 year old man is accused in connection with an incident involving his 16 month old daughter at the IWK Hospital.
He was arrested on Friday and made a court appearance this week.
Halifax Police says an investigation was launched last month after a complaint was filed.
