A day off for many students today, after our first December blast of snow Students in Anglophone East, and in Moncton, Dieppe, Shediac and Bouctouche zones for Francophone South have the day off today.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Gelas Duguay says we received 14 centimetres of snow in Greater Moncton, but other areas were harder hit including Gagetown, which got around 22 centimetres. Bouctouche, got around 21 centimetres.
It’s not expected to stick around though. Temperatures are expected to be up to around 7 degrees by Sunday, “We looking at temperatures to rise above seasonal values.”
Just a note for motorists this morning, give yourself some extra time. The roads are snow covered and there may be slick spots underneath. The plows are out in Greater Moncton, but on the outskirts of the city and on side roads, they may be still working at it.
There are many power outages across the province in the dark this morning. There were numerous reports on social media last night, of big flashes in the sky. Transformers blew, and that has left many people without power. To stay updated, visit HERE
