UPDATED: Police Presence At Local High School As a Precaution

Students may have noticed police presence at Bernice MacNaughton High School today.

According to the assessment process that the Anglophone East school district uses, if a Principal is notified of violence or a threat, they immediately notify 911, ensure the safety of all school members, and then activate the school based emergency plan.

From there, it is determined what level of risk the threat is. In this case, it was determined that it was a low level risk, but School Superintendant Gregg Ingersoll, but RCMP were asked to get involved as a precautionary measure.
