Today is the Majesta Greater Moncton Santa Claus Parade – the largest such parade in Eastern Canada.
The theme is Christmas Around the World and the parade itself kicks off at 5 o’clock.
Road closures start in the early afternoon at 1 Vaughan Harvey is closed from John Street to the entrance of Sobeys.
At 4:45, main street will be closed from Vaughan Harvey to Paul street – and all closures will be in effect until the end of the parade.
As well, no parking is permitted on Main street during the whole day until after the parade is finished.
It’s estimated that 100-thousand people attend the parade each year.
