Ron and Harmony Goddard have been waiting since February 2013, to bring their adopted children Rayna and Theodore home from Congo. A local fundraiser is planned to help them while they patiently wait.
Close Family friend Angela Gallant says immigration issues have meant Rayna and Theodore having been waiting in foster care to come to Canada to be with their new family.
She says, “Right now, the biggest road block is the Congolese government has not been allowing international adopted children to be released from their country, so that is what they are waiting for.”
Ron and Harmony are hoping to have their children home very soon, but while their children wait in foster care, the Goddard’s have taken on a lot of extra expenses.
A fundraising event has been planned to help alleviate the stress.
On December 12th, a donation, a gift wrapping fundraiser is being held. With a donation, you can have your gifts wrapped, while you wait. It’s being held at Hillside Church at 2290 Mountain Road, from 10 until 4.
All proceeds will go to the Goddard family.
