Members of the Royal Canadian Legion have been busy distributing poppies to schools and businesses this week.
Today marks the start of the legion’s annual poppy campaign which runs until Remembrance Day.
Sunnybrae Legion president Debbie Dart says it won’t be very hard to find a poppy since there are found in almost everywhere.
The poppy campaign is important for all legions since it supports veterans-in-need and also helps fund bursaries for high school graduates.
Dart believes more Canadians are aware of the sacrifices our veterans have made and want to show how grateful they are.
