Codiac RCMP Hope For New Police Station

Codiac RCMP could see a new headquarters in their future.

The construction of a $41 million building was included in the City of Moncton’s capital budget, and construction was proposed to start in 4 years.

The Capital budget was approved by City Councillors in prinicple yesterday.

The station is 35 years old, and for years, the city has talked about renovating it, instead of forking out to build a new one. Growing safety concerns and less and less space in the current facility means Councillors came to the conclusion that constructing a new building is the better way to go.

There’s no word yet where the new headquarters would be built.
