Normalizing breastfeeding is the idea behind a new campaign from Public Health.
In order to reduce the stigma that some breastfeeding mom’s endure such as being told to stop or to cover up. Life size images of regional women with their children will promote the Breastfeed Anywhere campaign.
Tara Kazak is one of the moms featured in the campaign and we asked her why she decided to breastfeed her son Nathan.
She says mostly because of the health benefits but also because of the cost as she learned you can save up to $2000 a year by breastfeeding instead of using formula.
In order to reduce the stigmas surrounding breastfeeding, the cutouts will be seen in public places including restaurants and a Sea Dogs game.
