The City of Moncton has reduced the speed limit along a section of Elmwood Drive, north of the Trans Canada Highway.
Effective this week, the posted speed limit has been permanently reduced from 70 to 60 kilometres per hour from Caledonia Road to the city limits.
Officials say a recent traffic study determined a lower speed limit would benefit the area given the rise in residential and commercial development in Moncton’s northeast corridor.
