City Of Moncton Prepares For Heavy Rain

With the amount of rain expected over the next 24 hours, City of Moncton crews are on stand-by to deal with any situations that may arise.

They’re keeping a close eye, in the case that localized flooding does occur.

Residents are encouraged to call the City’s 24/7 dispatch line(859-2643), to report any signs of flooding or other hazards.

Spokesperson for New Brunswick’s Public Safety and Emergency Measures Organizations Paul Bradley says you should also keep a close eye on your basement for potential flooding.

He says, “If you are prone to flooding, it could happen. If you have never experienced it before, there’s a lot of rain coming, so you might want to take extra precaution.”

Motorists should also be cautious while driving during heavy rainfall. Water could pool on roads and that could result in hydroplaning.
