Unexpected expenses continue to be a concern for the Anglophone East School district.
A link between newly added portables and Northrop Frye School was supposed to be operational at the beginning of the school year.
But the Chair of the District Education Council Tamara Nichol says that didn’t happen, so staff have been hired to walk the students from the portables to the school whether it be for lunch or to go to the bathroom.
She says it’s definitely an expense that they didn’t expect and it’s not an ideal sitatuon at all.
The School District is now looking at ways to recover costs.
They’ll be approaching the province to find out how that money can be reimbursed.
It is hoped that the link will be open later this week.
