Investigation Of Fredericton Police Officer Concludes

The investigation of a Fredericton Police officer who struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk with his patrol car in June is over and a settlement reached. There were questions raised about whether proper procedure was followed.

The officer took the man to the hospital immediately because the pedestrian, who suffered minor injuries, didn’t want an ambulance and the police supervisor was notified what was happening.

The officer, who remained on duty while the investigation was going on, was fined $172.50, for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a marked cross walk.
