Construction is getting underway this week on the RCMP Memorial Park which will be located along Riverfront Trail behind the Moncton Press Club.
City officials say the project will involve installing a stone walkway, seating, lighting, interpretive panels and trees.
Work should wrap up by the end of November.
The memorial sculpture will take shape over the winter and will be included next spring when the site is officially unveiled.
During construction, the Riverfront Trail will remain open for use.
