Rick Mercer and Sarah Polley will be promoted within The Order of Canada at a ceremony in Ottawa.

He was first named to the Order of Canada last year and will now be promoted to Officer.
Mercer has cemented his status as a cultural icon through his roles on This Hour has 22 Minutes, Made in Canada and The Rick Mercer Report.
He is also a leading advocate for the arts and spokesperson for numerous charities.
Sarah Polley and Rick Mercer are two of 9 officers to be honoured by Governor General, David Johnson.
Polley first endeared herself to audiences as a child actor in Road To Avonlea.
