The Terry Fox Run is celebrating its 35th anniversary and organizers have a goal of at least 350 participants for the Metro Moncton event on Sunday.
Tri-Community Run spokesperson Aloma Jardine says Terry Fox was only 21 when his cross-country Marathon of Hope changed the way we thought about cancer.
“It’s pretty remarkable that it didn’t take someone that was an expert in the area (of fundraising) but just one person who had a real passion for making a difference,” she notes.
Jardine says those taking part can run, walk or even roll for 1-K, 5-K or 10-K and there is no minimum donation.
Metro Moncton registration begins at noon Sunday at Riverfront Park near the old fire station and the Run starts at 1-pm.
