UPDATED: Richard Oland’s Secretary Describes Discovering His Body

The secretary for Richard Oland’s investment firm on Canterbury Street in Saint John testifying about discovering his body on day two of the second-degree murder trial of his son Dennis.

Maureen Adamson describing being met with a “terrifically vile odour” on the morning of July 7, 2011 as she made her way into the office.

She says that when she stepped into the Far End Corporation office she saw two legs protruding on the floor and in her words, she panicked, and went downstairs to the ground-floor business Printing Plus to get someone.

She went back upstairs with Preston Chiasson who had a cell phone which she believes he used to call 911. They were then instructed to leave the office. She describes it as bedlam when police arrived.

The day before Adamson testifying that Dennis Oland arrived at the office around 5:30pm on July 6 wearing a brown jacket and was alone. She says Richard Oland said hello to his son in a happy way and they were talking about a family tree they were working on.

According to Crown prosecutor PJ Veniot when Dennis was asked what he was wearing on July 6 he said that he was wearing a navy blazer.
