Want to share your love of reading with grade two students across the province? The Elementary Literacy program can help you do just that.
With the number of electronic options for kids these days, it is sometimes difficult to get them to pick up a book.
Executive Director Erin Schryer says becoming a volunteer, helps kids to regain that love of reading.
She says, “We know families today are extra busy, and in many instances if a community volunteer has the time and experience to sit down with a child to give them an extra hour or two a week, we have found through our data that it can be very successful.”
Volunteers commit to one hour a day, twice a week.
