Cyclebetes Surpasses Its Fundraising Goal

About 70 cyclists came together over the weekend to ride between 60 and 230 kilometres, all in support of Type 1 diabetes.

Over $29, 000 was raised this weekend, that surpasses the goal of $25, 000.

Mike Leblanc took part. His daughter has been living with the disease for almost 13 years now.

He says, “Anyone who is Type 1, they need to go on insulin to stay alive. You can’t control it by diet along, by watching what you eat.”

It’s the 9th year for the Cyclebetes event that left from Dieppe this year.

This is one of the largest fall fundraisers for Moncton’s Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
