This month is the most common for asthma attacks.
Noah Farber is the acting President of the Asthma Society of Canada. He says 90 percent of hospital and emergency room visits by asthma patients are avoidable with good asthma control.
Farber says up to 25 percent of all children’s hospital visits for asthma occur in September.
Farber says schools being closed up for the summer also may contribute to an attack with more dust mites in classrooms and possibly even mold.
