A search for a 42-year-old Moncton man in the Northumberland Strait has turned into a recovery effort.
RCMP say the man fell off a 16-foot pleasure boat near Grande-Digue around 11:30 last night.
A second person on the boat tried to find the man but eventually came to shore and called 911.
The Coast Guard, a federal fisheries vessel and an RCMP boat and helicopter were involved in the search overnight with no results.
Foul play is not suspected but police believe alcohol and not wearing a life jacket were factors in this incident.
