The West End Food Bank will soon be open more hours for your convenience.
Currently, it is closed the first seven days of the month, but starting in October, they’ve been given permission to open their doors during that time.
Manager Ben MacMichael says, in the past, many of the people using the food bank were on social assistance and not working, but that’s not the case anymore. He says now many of the people using their services are the working poor, and they have full time jobs to go to everyday.
He hopes they will eventually be able to open in the evenings as well.
