A group of community volunteers have raised $1,300 to help end homelessness in Metro Moncton.
Mission Possible had a day-long fundraiser in Riverview where many entertainers volunteered their time and community donations were encouraged.
Spokesperson Nikki McHugh says the group has already reached out to other community groups who work with the homeless.
“We’re going to ask them what they need… what do they need to support their causes and their endeavours to end homelessness. And we’re going to out and make those purchases for them and deliver those purchases to them,” she notes.
McHugh says Mission Possible has about 30 volunteers and more people have expressed interest in supporting the cause.
She adds another community fundraiser is planned for later this year.
