NB Seniors Advocates Want Meeting With Premier

Three seniors organizations have come together to send a strong message to Premier Brian Gallant – they want a meeting soon to talk about fees for nursing home care.

The three leaders of the New Brunswick Senior Citizens Federation, its francophone counterpart and the Coalition for Seniors and Nursing Home Residents Rights signed a registered letter at Moncton’s Peoples Park Tower today.

Spokesperson Cecile Cassista says this battle is far from over.

‘We started this in April… this is five months down the road and we are not giving up. Our momentum is building. There are more people joining us… that is a plus. It is very important that the premier and the minister (Social Development Minister Cathy Rogers) to us,” notes Cassista.

The provincial government had indicated the three groups would be considered for a meeting with the premier… but so far no response which has prompted them to take further action.
