A 28 year old man has been arrested and is expected to face charges after an accident on the Confederation Bridge.
It started just before 6 this morning, when RCMP received reports this morning of a man on the bridge.
Officials convinced the man to get into their pickup truck, but as an RCMP officer approached, the man jumped into the drivers seat, and stole the pick-up. The RCMP officer was dragged a considerable distance, before he finally managed to free himself.
The man continued on the bridge towards New Brunswick, then collided with two other vehicles.
The Bridge closed for several hours, while RCMP investigated.
The officer is currently in hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Hundreds of vehicles were left waiting to cross on each side of the structure.
The Bridge reopened shortly after ten this morning.
