Earthquake Felt Near Fredericton, NB

Did you feel the ground beneath you shake last night?

The Department of Natural Resources is reporting a 3.6 magnitude earthquake in the Fredericton region, that hit at around 7:47pm last night.

The epicentre was around 20 kilometres from Fredericton.

There were 261 reports to Earthquakes Canada from new Brunswickers who felt the quake.

It could be felt as far away as 50 kilometres from the epicentre.

There were no reports of any damage.

Sources say earthquakes don’t happen often in New Brunswick. We usually see one once every five years or so.
